Evolving Scientific Research Project, 501 c 3, Begins Conservation Work for Baboons, Vervets, Coastal Leopard and Knysna Elephants in South Africa

Spokane, WA (PRWEB) July 4, 2008 -- Evolving Scientific Research Project, a 501 (c) (3) corporation, announces expansion to three divisions dedicated to coexistence strategies, and resolution of human/animal community conflicts through a multidisciplinary approach to conservation of species, preservation of biodiversity and monitoring animal welfare.

Projects currently being implemented are: two (2) year study on primates used in biomedical research; conservation efforts for the endangered coastal leopard and Knysna elephant of South Africa including a feasibility study on land corridors and alternative energy; DNA studies on baboons and vervets; micro chipping of primates in rehab facilities; interventions in human/animal conflicts in South Africa related to baboons, vervets and elephants; as well as conservation efforts for identified at-risk species in the United States.

ESR Project was formed to protect and conserve natural flora and fauna which have become threatened by human community development. The three divisions of ESR Project are:

* Land Bridges Africa: Addresses the concerns of flora and fauna in Africa which are in conflict with, or are threatened by, community development, loss of habitat and/or lack of protective regulations and land areas. * Land Bridges USA: Addresses the concerns of flora and fauna in the U.S. which are in conflict with, or threatened by, community development, loss of habitat and/or interrupted breeding grounds and flyways, or lack of protected lands, to survive or thrive. * ESR Project/Biomedical: Addresses animal welfare and environmental concerns related to biomedical research in the U.S. including a two-year study on the use of primates in research. This study follows families of primates from the first wild-caught animal through its offspring and mates, through generations until the family line ends. ESR Project posts articles on its websites related to its projects and updates these regularly. Funds are dispersed through a CPA firm and reports are filed back to be posted online when the project is completed.

ESR Project relies on contributions and all donations are tax deductible. We are currently raising funding for: continued studies of the South African coastal leopard, the Knysna elephant project, an extension of the micro chipping and DNA studies of baboon and vervet populations in the South African cape region. In the U.S. we are raising funds for land acquisition in the Cascades to aid in the territory expansion of the fisher and to benefit other species requiring forested lands and streams, to purchase land which can be used for breeding sites for the Sandhill Crane in central Washington State, and to purchase land in northeastern washington forests which can be used for habitat for the northern leopard frog and other species. These are only a few of the projects targeted.
