Lakedale Resort at Three Lakes Introduces Comfort Camping to San Juan Island: New Canvas Cabins Allow Campers to "Rough It" with Real Beds and Linens

(PRWEB) July 11, 2007 -- Lakedale Resort at Three Lakes (www.lakedale.com) today announced the opening of its new, custom-built Canvas Cabins, which offer an upscale, unique camping experience where campers can sleep on comfortable beds with luxurious linens and relax on beautiful hickory furniture.
"There are a lot of people out there who enjoy the outdoors but are not thrilled about sleeping on a thin air mattress," said Michael Cawdrey, general manager of Lakedale Resort at Three Lakes, an 82-acre wooded property in the heart of San Juan Island. "With our Canvas Cabins, everything is taken care of for you, and every night you get to curl up in a cozy queen-sized bed. It's the best of both worlds."
Tucked away on a plateau overlooking Neva Lake - one of Lakedale's three lakes - the Canvas Cabins are the newest accommodation option at Lakedale Resort. The resort also offers an elegant lakefront Lodge; comfortable Log Cabins; the Lake House, an upscale vacation home; and expansive campgrounds that offer bicycle-only and RV sites.
Each 225-square-foot Canvas Cabin is constructed with a sturdy wooden frame and floor, and is topped with high-quality canvas. Located just steps away from shower facilities, each cabin features a queen bed with cotton flannel sheets, pillows and duvets, bath linens, a table and four chairs, two cordless lanterns and storage. The cabins are also furnished with either a full-size sleeper sofa or lounge chairs.
Outside each Canvas Cabin are two Adirondack chairs with ottomans, a picnic table and a fire ring.
To celebrate the grand opening, Lakedale Resort is offering Deluxe Canvas Cabin packages, which come with souvenir Lakedale hooded sweatshirts and pants; Aveda bath and shower products; a kit for making s'mores, complete with roasting skewers; a one-hour boat rental; and complimentary use of fishing poles and bait with licenses included.
"Lakedale is redefining the term 'roughing it,'" said Adrienne Miller, group sales manager for Lakedale Resort at Three Lakes. "There is no reason why you can't have all the amenities of a posh hotel room at your campsite. This is comfort camping with no distractions and no sore bodies from sleeping on the ground."
Lakedale is currently taking reservations for Canvas Cabins starting on June 15. The Lakedale Campground is open annually from March 1 through Oct. 31.
The Standard Canvas Cabin rate for two adults and two children (ages 15 and under) is $125. The Deluxe rate for two adults and two children (ages 15 and under) is $170. Additional persons are $35 each, and additional nights cost $125 each. A two-night minimum stay is required.
