Marriott Vacation Club Announces New Resort on Marco Island

Orlando, FL (PRWEB) June 7, 2007 -- Marriott Vacation Club International (MVCI), the vacation ownership division of Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR), announced today the development and sales start of its first resort on Marco Island, Fla. Slated for occupancy in March 2009, Marriott's Crystal Shores on Marco Island is proposed to include 219 two- and three-bedroom villas (at build-out). Initial pricing ranges from approximately $20,000 to over $100,000 per week depending on season and floor plan selected.

With its dramatic presence and clean lines, the architecture of Marriott's Crystal Shores will integrate and enhance the surrounding natural environment capturing the essence and easiness of the Gulf Coast Florida lifestyle. Upon arrival, owners and guests will be greeted under a glass roof and wood trellis porte-cochere by the soothing sight and sounds of a waterfall. Gulf breezes flow through the glass paneled, open-air lobby and cascading pools lead to unobstructed water views, while lush, tropical landscaping is woven throughout the resort creating an ideal environment to relax and enjoy the delightful climate and setting.

The buildings have been designed to optimize views from every villa. The spacious floor plans will range in size from approximately 1,100-1,450 square feet and offer large windows and casual furnishings made of natural materials, and an inviting color palette consisting of golden tan, blue and sage green. Villas at Marriott's Crystal Shores will feature a spectacular floor-to-ceiling sliding glass wall which opens up to a gracious balcony offering panoramic views and fresh sea breezes while providing ample space for relaxing and entertaining. The resort will also offer a limited quantity of three-bedroom penthouse villas which boast spacious 800 square foot balconies with stunning Gulf front views. Each villa features a fully-equipped gourmet kitchen with GE stainless steel appliances and custom cabinetry, tile floors and granite counters; generous living and dining areas; washer/dryer; oversized shower with multiple shower heads in master suite; multiple Sony flat-panel televisions; Sony DVD players in living room and bedrooms; and Wi-Fi access. Three-bedroom villas can accommodate up to ten guests.

Proposed resort features and amenities include:

•    Two elegant pools that cascade from the open-air lobby and finish zero-entry offering stunning views of the Gulf of Mexico

Other proposed resort features will include an elevated pool bar and grill with Gulf views and an Owner's Lounge which will offer a large terrace and indoor and outdoor seating overlooking the pools and the Gulf in addition to the MarketPlace convenience store. Owners and guests can also take a short stroll down the beach or on South Collier Boulevard to dine, shop or enjoy a spa treatment at the newly renovated Marco Island Marriott Resort, Golf Club & Spa.

Marco Island, the largest barrier island of Florida's Ten Thousand Island archipelago, is located on the Southwestern tip of Florida's "Paradise Coast" and is known for its pristine Gulf beaches, world-class golf, shopping and dining, eclectic art galleries and casual atmosphere. Boasting four miles of sugar white sand beaches and beach parks within the Ten Thousand Island region, visitors enjoy long walks and shelling on deserted beaches, spectacular sunsets, and numerous water sports activities.
